  • Kalema  - We will be there
We will be there. Does this mean no political show this saturday?

This Ka Museveni must go to hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • joe mpalaba  - Great opportunity
This symposium was a great thing for those who attended. It was apolitical yet tackled the issues of what people want from grass-roots level. I liked the speach though brief by Dr. Kaggwa on Multi-level Governance used by EU, USA and UK to sustain Federated nations within large nations; to enable people share in their own leadership and provide self-determination and independence without civil war or fracture.

So I ask; Why were the political lot in London conspicuously absent?

Like Dr. Kawumi one of the speakers put it: "African leaders fear inclussivity. even those who make a lot of noise in London about democracy in Africa failed to show up.

But the greater challenge was by that lady Ms. Horner who elegantly challenged us to sleep with a mosquito for test! Indeed without women being supported from grassroots, unity for Africa as States is and will remain for the fat bellied politicians who are scared of what Col Qadhafi has suggested. Just as Dr. Kaggwa told us; ...
  • Mukasa JB  - Unity in Diversity
As a Muganda; I was happy to see intellectuals speak from a not political manner but respecting me as individual, my family, my clan, my tribe-nation, and my state or country. It was good to hear that Buganda was a nation, so is Ibo and Luhya in their different areas. I learnt for he first time that these tribes are nations in States. So Gaddafi is pretty intelligent to give these various nations recognition in order to help bring about a stop to political strife in Africa. But also I learnt that a common African market would be a force in the world to reckon with in view of the raw material we have. Well done organisers.

    Thanks Ngoma Radio :D
  • Omoding Laker  - When can the Unity work for my people?
Although this was a good symposium I still want to know when real African Unity under what Dr Kaggwa called MLG will start working for me? The Europeans already have it. Now Kyeyo is hard because all the dirty jobs we have been doing are being given to the Polish. So when can so called African politicians wake up to unite and when can they stop giving even the jobs in Africa to Europeans and Americans? It was good to see a difference though in the speakers that we have never seen before in London, articulating things in such a forceful way. If what they perceive is what Gaddafi is proposing the I support the Man. No wondr M7 is shitting-himself when the name Gaddafi is mentioned these days
  • Jamil Komakech  - Africa could, but cant unite
Vary interesting to academics speak eloquently about African Unity. Also good to see they suport the monarchies and other traditional leaders. But they forgt to condemn people like M7 who is killing Ugandans. Because of Dictators like M7 Africa Cannot unite. M7 is sacred of Gaddafi's ideas on Unity as Gaddafi wants local and traditional leaders to have power. So M7 who has been killing people for 24 years is afraid he will end up in De-Hauge so he must opose unity and carryon killing.

    Maybe the time has come:
When we listened to Mr Isah from Sudan
Dr Kawumi from DRC , Ms Horner from Uganda and Dr Kaggwa from Uganda they painted our history in clear terms: We need the unity to get government that will allow Africans to travel freely in the land from North to south and sn. So than you col. Gaddafi for the idea
  • Niriniye John  - Against the odds
Thank you Ngoma Radio and others that put on the African Union symposium. It showed that at least some people are looking not only at the selfish measures of our politicians. Here in UK this debate has been long overdue. Hold more of these in London and give more time for people to notice the adverts. The weather was awful though; good speakers and a good mix of people, nice food.
  • Moses Omoro  - Thank you Ngoma
I am not usually impressed by talks of Unity, but I was amazed we have classy intelectuals in our diaspora community of Africans.

That lady Ms. Horner was very good at creating the need for a United front for Men and Women to fight together for Africa to be a United body economically>. She followed Dr. Kawumi who comically teased the audience much; yet not escaping from the support for unity for all Africans. Mr Isah from Sudan gave us what AU Law is all about. But he challenged that Law to help the local man/woman you and I. Good, good. I would have liked to hear more from Dr. Kaggwa on his Multi Level Governance which he said is what Gaddafi is proposing in a United Africa. This was hot stuff although not political, Who would not like respect and power for themselves. So if Dr. Kaggwa's Multi Level Government is along the lines of EU, USA, and UK as he stated, then people, let us embrace the Col.'s ideas of African Unity; long as it respects local heads of families, clans, Ch...
  • Ahmed Hussein  - Thank you Citizen
I atended the symposim and felt a great spirit of pan-Africanism to see north and south africans sit together locally to discuss matters of unity. This was not our presidents who are the only priviledged to discuss such matters. But us locals. So thank you The Uganda Citizen and others for organising this. Do some more.
  • Eva Mullin  - Upbeat Africa, Viva Africa
This type of symosium is what we have been waiting for. very good Citizen News for organising with the Libyan Students Union. I was happy to see that women were included in the major speakers
  • Masembe  - New ways, Old ideas
It was good of The Uganda Citizen to organise this event but like someone has mentioned the voices of the so called poltical Gurus in London where no where to be seen, you wonder the cause they are pursuing; self or citizens of Africa!!
PARDONED--there is always another time. This forum needs your views and ideas.

Well done all to attend despite the horrible weather of the day!!, this was a precedent turning up in such numbers, great..
Ms Hormer i have to single you out you were a challenge worthy living with, Africa neeeds people like you welldone.

IDEAS:- We learn from experiences, next time please give it more time, preferably a full day.
-Allow people to join and share in small groups.
-There should be a space for diversity and a sense of culture.. make it look african..

Thanks :--For keeping it apolitical and non partisan or to look Libyan owened.
Reminder--: have a sense of distructors, but remember they are one of us only that they are momentarily fooled!!

    Go...
  • Chandee Patel  - What about us?
I got there very late but I heard Ms. Horner and Dr. Kaggwa speak. There is something people miss; us African Asians. We want the unity and the federated kingdoms to make sure that they do not forget us. MLG that has worked in UK and US and now EU because they are inclussive of the ethnic minority. Kabaka in Buganda includes Asians in his government, so anyone talking about African Unity must remember those of us born of Asian migrants in places like Naivasha or Kapeeka. Maybe to advance Federo Kabaka must now institute new clans for the likes of us e.g. for Asians, Somalis, Nubians even the nyankoles who are born in Buganda before that M7 man gives the Nubians a Sabanubi in Bombo. Just a thought
